July 4th Celebrations

Save Event to CalendarThe ACV veterans group is organizing a July 4th golf cart parade, similar to the Christmas Parade on Wheels. The parade will begin at 10:00 a.m. and will travel throughout the Village. Anyone may participate by decorating anything on wheels -- a golf cart, antique car, scooter, or other vehicle. Participants should arrive at the Lake Aquilla parking lot by 9:30 a.m. to line up.
Program & Party: 3:00 p.m. - RDR
America turns 250 years old this year, and it's time to celebrate! Plan to attend a fun and festive gathering in the dining room on Saturday afternoon, July 4, at 3:00 p.m. Our special entertainment will be a patriotic concert by the brass quintet who performed in Bixler Chapel on Memorial Day.
We will also have two judged contests: your best homemade potato salad and your most delicious homemade apple pie. After judging, everyone will get to taste the entries. (Those who wish to compete should sign up when you pick up your ticket.) And following the concert, there will be two more competitions: cornhole and "Granny Pants." You won't want to miss it! Prizes will be awarded.
Come learn how America got its start and join in celebrating what it has become. Pick up your free tickets at the Information Center by June 23 so we know how many plan to attend. (Friends and family are welcome!)
Bus Trip to Live Oak's Fireworks
8:00 p.m. - DH & 8:15 p.m. - LAP
Bus transportation is available to take riders to Live Oak to watch the fireworks display, which is scheduled to begin at 9:15 p.m. Sign up at the Information Center. This is a free bus trip. You will want to bring something to sit on and maybe some bug spray.
