Hidden Garden

Wednesdays, 8-10 am | Marge Reach, 706-897-2965 or Ellie Foerste, 407-908-4379

Join the Friends of the Hidden Garden on Wednesday mornings. We meet 8 to 10 am but as it is so cold lately, we get moving closer to 9 am as the sun warms us up. Join us to plant new cold hardy herbs, leafy greens and flowers.   Learn about the grid garden technique for intensive harvest in small spaces. Most veggies need at least 6 hours of direct sun but leafy greens and herbs still produce in partial sun. We use the cut and grow harvest technique; only harvest a few lower leaves at a time and allow the plants to keep growing.

We have a unique squirrel proof feeder.  Sit on a bench and enjoy the variety of birds at the feeder. As the weather warms in the middle of the day, butterflies visit. Sunset is about 6 pm and it is very peaceful watching the sky to the west over the river. Read a book, write a note or chat with a friend in the serenity of The Hidden Garden.

The Hidden Garden is located in the courtyard next to the Village Library and the Smith Riverview Apartments. It is open for rest and relaxation and gardening for all regardless of your mobility or gardening abilities.
